MOM- ARE YOU A GHOST?
“I’m home honey “, announced Captain Rogers to his wife.”Tomorrow’s retirement day”. Stella turned behind while stirring a pot of horse radish.”Now can we get settled in England in the house i mentioned?”, she said. Capt. Rogers just stared at his wife,”Yeah, I told our son to search the whole country for that house of yours”. Stella returned the stare,” I told you even the exact place”, this was in an anticipatory tone. “You started telling about that house when Joe was in your stomach”, teased Rogers and moved out of the smoky kitchen towards the living room.
Stella closed the steaming pot and moved out of the kitchen with Rogers. She placed her palm on his shoulders.”When are you calling Joe? Tonight? Then please mention about the house I mentioned dear”, she requested. “I don’t want to make the phone bill long like your description, please send an E-mail or something ” he pleaded. ‘Nice idea ‘, she thought.
After Capt. Rogers last sumptuous eight course meal in service and after a few phone calls, he retired on the couch in the living room while his wife made a few phone calls to the Packing and Moving Services. After 15 minutes the beep of the UPS was heard and Stella’s hands were hitting the keyboard . Roger turned back to see her. She was sitting on the flat backed chair in front of the LCD screen, Roger turned to the TV, satisfied of the phone bill.

Please find out a house which I describe. ……………..double storied villa,………….6 miles along East highway cutting from South Corridor in Perth………………..It has a tall red gate……………….the side boundary on the right of the path leading to the house is slightly displaced………….. the kitchen wall has a big crack on the East wall……….in its lawn there is a pond with 12 lotuses now…………..the 4th step on the wooden steps leading up is loose………………………………..

The first time Joe read this mail, he thought that his mother had gone nuts and he needed the help of an asylum.
Fortunately the Real Estate Firm which carried out transactions along the East of the South Corridor belonged to his friend’s uncle.
Next morning Joe reached the Blue Hill Land Consultants at 9. He was made to stand out of the Managers cabin for half an hour at half past 9, he was called in by the peon. After introduction, a dragging smoke and over a cup of tea, he lifted his head and asked
“Do you know any double storied villa 6 miles along the East Highway, with a red gate?”
The shrewd eyes of the manager met his curious eyes, “If I were you I wouldn’t go for it “.
“What’s weird with it?” enquired Joe. “Our Company has been trying to sell it for the past decade, but superstitions have kept people from buying it . I am telling you all this as you came here in C/o of my nephew, if something happens………. A pregnant woman was brutally murdered there” confessed the manager
“Excuse me a minute, let me call my mom and tell her”, and Joe moved out of the cabin taking his Cell Phone from his pocket.
After a couple of minutes, the cabin door opened and Joe walked in. “No hope. My mom’s adamant and she wants that hose any how”.
“We have no problem in selling it to you!”, the manager was relieved and felt as if a sand bag was taken off his head. “You can have it after all the paperwork. I’ll send John with you, he will acquaint you to the surroundings”.
John sat on the raised verandah of the house waiting for the clients to arrive. As he saw a white cab moving towards the gate, he rose to his feet.
Joe who was in the front seat, beside the driver got out first. And as he got out on the cement pathway, he could see the right raised boundary slightly misplaced.
John smiled at Joe and looked in the rear seat of the sedan to see the brave lady who bought the villa.
As he saw Stella got down from the cab with Rogers, John’s face changed. His eyes began to squint, his spine began shivering, his blood ran cold.
As Stella’s eyes met the Broker’s eyes she had a look of recognition in her mind, but soon detached it to the Dream Villa. John somehow recollected his wits and they began exploring the house.
While Joe and John were alone in the living room as Stella and Rogers had gone up to discover the area above, Joe jokingly asked John,” any chance of a ghost here being my friend?”
John stammered but his conscience said that it was Joe’s right to know
“The Ghost is your mother boy, I’ve seen her here heaps of times when we brought people to show people the house”
Joe’s head began to spin ………………
