are the American Girl mini collections doll sized?
American Girl Mini dolls are between 6 and 7 Inches Tall. Comparatively, a typical Barbie is 11 inches to 12 inches tall. Typical American Girl Dolls are 18 inches tall.
So, American Girl mini dolls are a little more than half the size of a Barbie and are one-third the size of a regular American Girl Doll. They are meant to be played with as dolls, although they can also be kept as collectibles. The price (around $22.00) makes them much more manageable than the larger dolls and makes it possible to have a few of them with less financial investment than a regular sized American Girl Doll.
There are mini dolls for each of the Historic Collection American Girl Dolls. For a limited time (until the end of 2011) there are special edition dolls (Collectible Mini Dolls) which are released each month. These dolls feature some popular Historic Collection characters in other popular outfits, typically the character’s holiday dress. The outfits are modified for the smaller size but look about the same.
